VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – Mathews seeks better results this year with an experienced group of six returning letter winners in Mia DelGarbino, Rilee Paddock, Liz Rowan, Zoey Brown, Alexis McLaughlin and sophomore power forward Marlee Ruiter.
The Mustangs also will have a strong incoming class with freshmen Kenzie Kester and Sydney Nelson and Austintown transfer sophomore Ava Swesey.
“We expect to get better every day,” says coach Stephen Sponsler. “We have size for the first time in the five years, I’ve been head coach. We’re coming together as a team, as a family, these girls are a very coachable group.”
Mathews begins the 2024-25 season with a trip to Conneaut on November 22.
