(KTAL/KMSS) – There is an opportunity for aspiring college students to be awarded scholarships through a global fast-food chain’s education initiative.
McDonald’s announced that three of its largest scholarship programs, the McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship, the Black & Positively Golden Scholarship, and the APIA Scholarship, are all accepting submissions for scholarships.
In a news release, the company said it is “Turning Dreams into Degrees” by empowering future thought leaders to advance their educational aspirations.
With a nearly four-decade history of supporting students’ dreams of attending college, McDonald’s USA and its Owner/Operators have channeled significant resources to serve bright futures to college-bound students from Asian and Pacific Islander American and Hispanic/Latino backgrounds, as well as those attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). “One small decision I made that changed everything was applying for the McDonald’s HACER® National Scholarship, which really put my mind at ease when it came to not graduating with student loans. Through a more than 20-year partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and a three-year partnership with digital health company Alkeme Health, the Black and Positively Golden National Scholarship Program has helped incoming HBCU students and their families ease the financial and mental health burdens often associated with college costs and admissions.
Sixty-three students attending HBCUs were awarded scholarships in the 2024-2025 academic year, and nearly 2,000 Black and Positively Golden applications received a one-year Alkeme Health subscription. The scholarship application deadline is April 25, 2025.
