After a very warm summer in Central Europe, autumn now has a firm grip on the continent. An explosive weather situation is currently developing there that will cause extreme precipitation in Central and Eastern Europe. In many countries, several months’ worth of precipitation is expected in some places in a few days. In the Eastern Alps, one to two meters of snow is even possible. Several national weather services have announced code orange and red from Friday to Sunday.
