BEN DOAK is considered by many as Scotland’s next great hope.
And he showed exactly why with one terrific skill move that left his £80m opponent for DEAD.
Liverpool wonderkid Doak, 19, was handed a start by Steve Clarke as the national team hosted Croatia in their latest Nations League clash.
Lining up on the right wing, he was tasked with taking on Manchester City‘s Josko Gvardiol, signed by Pep Guardiola last summer for a fee in the region of £80m.
Croatia had the better of the early exchanges at Hampden and Doak’s influence on the game was limited.
But in the 18th minute that all changed.

The former Celtic starlet moved out to the touchline to receive a pass from Middlesbrough team mate Tommy Conway as Scotland looked to counter on the visitors.
Doak had his back to Gvardiol (and the goal) and waited for the ball to reach him, at which point he proceeded to turn Gvardiol inisde out.
He took one touch with his left heel that put the ball through Gvardiol’s legs and he then spun to his left before turning n the afterburners to sprint away from his rival who tried to grab a hold of his jersey to no avail.
Doak advanced to the edge of the box where he then picked out the on-running Scott McTominay who subsequently fired a shot at goal that was saved and diverted for a corner by Croat ‘keeper Dominik Kotarski.
The moment lit up Hampden and punters leapt off their seats in excitement.
And at home, Scotland fans were similarly in awe of Doak’s talent.
One exclaimed: “BEN DOAK THAT IS INSANE.”
A second said: “Ben Doak absolutely skinned Gvardiol there.”
A third commented: “Ben Doak sending Gvardiol for a hot dog at Hampden. A buzz of excitement each time he receives the ball.”
A fourth joked: “Young Ben Doak has just put Gvardiol on two slices of buttered bread.”
The comments kept coming, as another said: “Gvardiol needs to buy a ticket to get back in after that turn from Doak.”
“Doak just COOKED Gvardiol,” said another fan.
Before this supporter remarked: “Ben Doak just ended Gvardiol’s career.”
