To save money, the fastest-growing county in Alabama is considering a plan that could result in more stray animals being put down faster.
Officials in Limestone County now say they won’t pay for strays to stay in a shelter for longer than 14 days. As a result, the county’s only shelter, run by local veterinarians, will close at the end of the month.
