NEW CONCORD, Ohio (WKBN) – Mount Union football won its 74th consecutive regular season game after taking down Muskingum, 35-28, on Saturday to improve to 10-0 on the year.
The Purple Raiders have won every single regular season game dating back to the 2017 season.
West Branch product and Mount quarterback TJ DeShields went 18-for-27 passing with 273 yards and two total touchdowns.
The Mount offense was paced by running back Tyler Echeverry, who rushed for 160 yards on 25 carries and scored four rushing touchdowns.
It was Echeverry’s fifth straight 100-yard rushing game and sixth of the season as he surpassed 1,000 yards on the season in this contest.
Purple Raiders wide receiver Tyrell Sanders hauled in six passes for 130 yards while Drew Sims caught the lone touchdown through the air.
With the win, Mount moves to 10-0 and will now await the first-round matchup of the Division III football championship.
The NCAA selection show will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 and the first round will begin Saturday, Nov. 23.
