Muscle Shoals police shot a person after officers were called to Tuxedo Avenue Sunday night, the department announced on Facebook.
Few details were released.
It was not clear what the nature of the call was, how badly injured the person was injured in the shooting or what led police to fire.
“As protocol, The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) was called to the scene and the investigation was turned over to their agency,” the department stated.
“The Officers involved are on Administrative Leave per protocol. More information will be provided as it becomes available per ALEA.”
