Nate Oats, Alabama get commitment from 4-star Amari Allen

Nate Oats’ Alabama Crimson Tide got its first commitment of the 2025 cycle on Tuesday.

Amari Allen, a four-star small forward has committed to Alabama, according to On3.

“I love the culture and the relationship I have built with the coaching staff,” Allen told On3. “They have the formula to get guys like me to the league and I trust them and think I can get there with them.”

The 6-foot-7 small forward out of Ashwaubenon High (WI) chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Wisconsin, UCF, Mississippi State, Nevada, and Minnesota. Per the On3 Industry Rankings, Allen is the No. 78 overall prospect in the class and the No. 1 player in Wisconsin.

The Alabama basketball team heads into the 2024-25 season as the preseason No. 1 team in the country, according to Lindy’s.

Oats and the Crimson Tide went to the Final Four for the first time in program history to end the 2023-24 season.

The Tide will have several key contributors from the Final Four team opted to return, including Mark Sears and Grant Nelson. Alabama begins the season on Nov. 4 against North Carolina-Asheville in Tuscaloosa, though it will play a charity game in Huntsville on Oct. 28.
