Never Forget How Jon Stewart Mauled Kevin O’Leary for Pro Donald Trump Comment

Canadian businessman and investor Kevin O’Leary is pretty notable for throwing fits over investment seekers, who overvalue their companies. But contrast to his viewpoints in Shark Tank, O’Leary came forward to defend Donald Trump in the wake of his alleged NY civil fraud, stressing that it didn’t go very well with the investment community.

While it was the prospect of the 2015 US election that prompted Jon Stewart to bid goodbye to his gig as the host in the first place, his return was also influenced by the absurdities surrounding the 2024 election. Following his return to The Daily Show, the comedian called out Shark Tank judge Kevin O’Leary for his stance on Donald Trump‘s alleged NY civil fraud.

Speaking of the punishing penalty against Trump company, the Shark Tank judge shared that it didn’t go very well with the investment community, as they were all asking each other “Who is next?”. The businessman further deemed the alleged fraud committed by the Trump Organization a “victimless crime”. Reflecting on his statements, Stewart later pointed out the investor’s apparent hypocrisy following his history in Shark Tank.

I am surprised to hear this from Kevin O’Leary. He’s a guy who’s such an asshole … even the other people on Shark Tank think he’s an asshole. I’m surprised to hear that he’s so chill about overvaluing something that he thinks is victimless, because when someone tries to do that to him.

The host further proceeded to play a montage of O’Leary’s angry outbursts at Shark Tank entrepreneurs for overvaluing their company to poke fun at O’Leary.

Stewart also rebutted O’Leary’s comments about the whole fiasco being a “victimless crime”, stating “avoiding taxes hurts all of us”, and added that Trump’s apparent shenanigans cost the city of New York.

Despite almost a decade-long absence from the show, his return proved that the host still bears his comedic chops. As for the influence behind his decision to tune back in, the comedian explained that he just needed to vent his frustrations and unload his thoughts ahead of the November election.

I very much wanted to have some kind of place to unload thoughts as we get into this election season.

However, Stewart clarified that he didn’t intend to have a specific influence on viewers with his return, expressing that he just needed a means of catharsis.
