New footage of final touches being put to Copland Stand emerges and new pitch laid as Rangers prepare to return to Ibrox

MORE footage has emerged of how Ibrox is looking as Rangers prepare to return to the stadium to play for the first time in four months.

The Light Blues have been locked out of their home ground due to ongoing construction works to the Copland Stand, which were hit by shipping delays during the summer months, causing the project to run beyond schedule.

But now it looks like the finishing touches are finally being applied.

Gers chiefs revealed the team would be back at Ibrox for the Premier Sports Cup game against Dundee on September 21.

In an important caveat however, they stated the Copland Stand WOULDN’T be open for the match.

A statement from the club read: “Rangers Football Club today confirms our Premier Sports Cup tie with Dundee on Saturday, 21 September, will be played at Ibrox Stadium.

“Excluding the Copland Stand, where final concourse and seating works are ongoing, all areas of our home will be open for this match. Season ticket holders from the Copland Stand will be offered an exclusive window to purchase seating elsewhere.

“The continuous credit card scheme (CCCS) will return for this game for all supporters, excluding those in the Copland Stand.

Tickets for this 5:30pm kick-off are priced at £23 for adults, £17 for concessions and £11 for juniors.”

The following weekend, Rangers host Hibs in the Premiership.

Going by this latest footage, the Copland Stand may be ready to welcome back fans for that fixture.

Video clips taken by Drone Audits Scotland show that almost ALL of the seats have been fitted into the stand.

The lower tier has been completed with just a few sections of the upper tier needing filled in.

New grass has also been delivered and laid in the area behind the goal at which the work was taking place.
