NFL Week 3 Jalen Hurts player prop pick, Derrick Henry, Jahmyr Gibbs prop prediction

NFL Week 3 Jalen Hurts player prop pick, Derrick Henry, Jahmyr Gibbs prop prediction

Former Alabama players continue to light up the NFL with impressive statistics, while playing pivotal roles on some of the best teams.

That trend has continued early in this NFL season and likely will keep going for a long time.

Today, we are looking at some of those players and recommending NFL Week 3 prop picks for Jalen Hurts, Derrick Henry and Jahmyr Gibbs.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

Over 40.5 rushing yards vs. Saints

Odds: -114 at FanDuel Sportsbook

TV: 1 pm ET, FOX

Hurts erupted for 85 rushing yards on 13 carries in the Monday Night Football loss to Atlanta. It was Hurts’ highest rushing total in 22 regular season games.

It’s no coincidence that his passing yardage against the Falcons was fairly low at 183 yards.

That increase in rushing and decrease in passing was due in large part to the absence of leading WR A.J. Brown (hamstring injury).

Without Brown, the passing game is muted because he unlocks so much for the other receivers and tight ends.

If receivers aren’t open, it’s easy for Hurts to rely on his legs to pick up solid gains and first downs.

Brown will miss Sunday’s game, too, and with a tight game probable, you can expect to Hurts to lean on his legs as much as last week.

Ravens RB Derrick Henry

Under 1.5 receptions vs. Cowboys

Odds: -165 at DraftKings Sportsbook

TV: 4:25 pm ET, FOX

Through two games, it is crystal clear what the Ravens’ intentions are with the backfield: Derrick Henry is there to run, and Justice Hill is there to catch.

Henry has 31 carries and one reception. Hill has five carries and eight receptions.

Hill is such a big part of the offensive game plan that he has played more snaps than Henry — 78 to 67.

That also shows that the Ravens aren’t messing around with Henry. Almost half of the time he is on the field, he receives a handoff or direct snap.

There’s no reason to think that balance and usage are going to end any time soon, so don’t get cute. Grab the Under on this prop and go to the bank.

Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs

Over 3.5 receptions vs. Cardinals

Odds: -102 at FanDuel Sportsbook

TV: 4:25 pm ET, FOX

Jahmyr Gibbs has always been a dual-threat running back, and that skillset is shining bright so far this season.

Gibbs has 11 receptions on 13 targets in two games. Seven of those receptions came in Detroit’s loss to Tampa Bay last weekend.

With six targets in one game and seven targets in the next, Gibbs is obviously a serious part of the Lions’ passing game.

Why would that change this week? The Cardinals gave up four receptions to Buffalo’s running backs in Week 1 and gave up four receptions to Rams RB Kyren Williams last week.

There is no reason to try to reinvent the wheel.
