In a written question to ministers viewed as a dig at John Swinney and Finance Secretary Shona Robison, she asked whether they’ll “set aside funding equal to that drawn down” in the future.

The former SNP leader said the cash must be invested “in projects to assist the transition to net zero”.

It was part of £756million raised by selling offshore windfarm licences while Ms Sturgeon was in power.

She pledged the bonanza would be used for renewable projects.

Rivals accused her of attacking the First Minister and Ms Robison, below, for abandoning the strategy.

Tories’ net zero spokesman Douglas Lumsden said: “Even Nicola Sturgeon cannot believe the SNP are selling the family silver to plug the black hole they created.

“While previous long-term allies are bitterly fighting like Nats in a sack, real priorities continue to be ignored.”

Ms Robison has said she hopes to not have to draw on the cash.

But Scots Lib Dems chief Alex Cole-Hamilton warned: “This is a one-off pot supposed to be invested in a sustainable future.

Instead it’s being used to plug holes due to SNP mismanagement.”

A Scottish Government spokesman said: “Ministers will seek to minimise the use of ScotWind monies in 2024/25 and continue to prioritise action to address the climate change crisis and accelerate the just transition to net zero.”

It comes after the former First Minister shared pictures of her early gym session, as part of her bid to “get fit”.

She is still under investigation amid allegations of embezzlement against her husband Peter Murrell.

But she appears to be focused on other things, sharing photos of her workout at a local gym as she tries to improve her physical health.

The ex-Nats leader told followers she’d recently started out on her new fitness journey which she called “Project Get Fit”
