Spoiler Alert !!!
The following article contains spoilers for One Piece chapter 1126.
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece finally returned this Sunday and what an incredible chapter it was! Though the fans believed that the newest chapter would feature the Straw Hat Pirates commencing their journey to Elbaf Island, that was not the case.
The latest release featured the aftermath of the clash between Kuzan of the Blackbeard Pirates and Monkey D. Garp, the Hero of the Marines, at Hachinosu. The crew had a meeting with their captain, Marshall D. Teach, where Aokiji stated his intentions clearly when he was fighting his superior from the Marines.
Even though fans learned that Kuzan is immensely loyal to the Blackbeard Pirates and was going to deal a fatal blow to Garp, that was not the case. The intention changed in the official manga, where he underscored his original intentions for his former superior.
Kuzan’s Primary Motive in the Chapter Indicated a Different Intention for Garp
One Piece chapter 1126 clearly sent shockwaves around the internet, featuring some major twists to the series as Straw Hats set sail towards Elbaf. The twists were so great that they compelled the fans to sit at the edge of their seats, giving them a spine-tingling sensation.
From Shanks taking out Bartolomeo and his crew to half of the Straw Hat Pirates disappearing along with the Thousand Sunny, the latest release clearly featured many surprising events.
However, one event hooked the fans of the title, as it featured Blackbeard arriving at Hachinosu and having a meeting with his crew, where he was fuming at every member of his crew except Aokiji as they let Gecko Moria and Koby escape from their home base.
It was one of the biggest shocks to the readers, where they expressed their surprise on the internet. The latest chapter decided to shed some light on Kuzan’s original intentions while battling his former mentor, and it is quite different from what was featured in the TCB version of the manga.
As shared by Pew (@pewpiece) on X, a side-by-side comparison of the TCB and the official version of the same panel clearly states the different intentions of the former Marine Admiral. In the TCB version, the character stated, “I was going for the kill… but he survived,” whereas, in the official chapter, he seemed to be worried as he stated, “I thought I killed him… but he ended up alive instead.”
Well, it can be interpreted that Aokiji might play a role in saving his former mentor. However, it is too bleak to make such assumptions. But what can be interpreted with the current storyline is that Eiichiro Oda might be setting up a major event for Luffy vs. Blackbeard.
One Piece Fans React to Kuzan’s Original Intention While Fighting Garp
When the TCB form of the manga first surfaced on the internet, fans were taken aback because the battle was so intense that many believed that Monkey D. Garp might be killed in action.
The Vice Admiral stood his ground as he took on every member of the crew, but he fell short as his former pupil defeated him. The scene changed where Garp would be seen held in a dark cell, covered in shackles. The fans stated their opinion as they left their comments on the post.
IT WAS NOT A TEAM EFFORT 💀

I don’t know why Garp is so underated lol, like this guy is the only characters from Old Gen that are narratively superior than Gol D. Roger, though if we being honest all Monkey D. are narratively superior than Roger.

The officials are infinitely better translated. That’s what the kanji says
Tcb is REALLY bad when it comes to one piece. At this point I treat it like a 3rd version of leaks. To be taken with a grain of salt

Whatever the case, it is heartbreaking to see how his life was filled with tragedies and how his former pupil rebelled against him, who almost took out the Blackbeard Pirates even after Shiryu injured him gravely.
