Olivia Plath Doesn’t Deserve the Hate For Finding Love Again While She is Still Hurting From the Divorce With Ethan

After being away from each other for months, Welcome to Plathville’s Olivia and Ethan Plath finally went ahead with their divorce in the middle of season 6. Olivia Plath was all set to enjoy the freedom that comes with singlehood, but that did not last long at all. She was seen with a new man, Brendan, in episode 10 where she introduced him as her boyfriend.

While the new couple seems to be happy in each other’s company, social media was quick to bring them down. As it turns out, a majority of the fans are simply not interested in seeing Olivia and Brendan’s relationship and for that, the couple is garnering a ton of hate for themselves online.

Welcome to Plathville follows the lives of the Plath family who are strongly conservative in their views. The nine children of Kim and Barry Plath were raised following similar values but the show reveals that they are trying to break free from their cocoons.

The eldest son, Ethan Plath, was married to Olivia Plath for five years but they recently separated from each other, finalizing their divorce in season 6. Now, Olivia, who hasn’t let go of the Plath surname, has a new boyfriend – Brendan.

Brendan is new to the world of reality TV and she met him while working for a couple as their photographer. He was their pet sitter and the two hit it off almost immediately. Who knew things would get so serious that she would end up introducing him to the world through Welcome to Plathville?

During the September 17 episode of the show, a producer asked Olivia about the new guy and she happily replied, “My boyfriend! I have been dating Brendan for a few months.”

While some may believe Brendan is a rebound of sorts for Olivia after her disastrous marriage with Ethan came to an end, it looks like the new couple is quite fond of each other. You could even see them exchange “I Love You’s” on the show.

Welcome to Plathville Fans Are Over Olivia

Moving forward with your love life after a divorce is not easy for anyone and it probably wasn’t easy for Olivia either. However, despite the hurt she went through, she has managed to do well for herself, finding her solace in Brendan. While they seem extremely happy and in love, fans cannot help but sneer at the new couple.

There are a few reasons why they are over Olivia and her new relationship. For starters, fans felt like they were doing a bit too much for the camera and their PDA was simply in the viewers’ faces. On the other hand, fans are done with Olivia’s storyline in the show. They want the reality series to focus on the one thing they came for – the Plath family. Since Olivia is no longer related to the family, fans are begging the creators of the show to remove her from the upcoming episodes.

Take a look at what the fans had to say about it all:

It seems rather unfair that Brendan and Olivia have to go through such intense criticism for their relationship. Reducing the guy to a rebound seems pretty harsh, doesn’t it? The two seem to be immensely in love with each other and while fans are entitled to their opinions when it comes to Olivia’s involvement in the show, they should probably tone it down before dissing the new relationship.

Maybe Brendan is the one for Olivia or maybe he is not, however, that’s for the couple to decide. When it comes to their relationship, fans should take a step back and let it play out naturally.

Welcome To Plathville airs Tuesdays on TLC.
