DUMARTON will be plunged into administration tomorrow and be sent tumbling down to the foot of League One.
SunSport can reveal the Sons – one of Scotland’s oldest clubs – have been dogged by financial trouble in recent weeks.
Faint hopes of a final cash injection which would have at least helped their plight are thought to have been dashed earlier today.
That was the trigger for the Sons, founded in 1872, to bring in the bean counters, a decision which will see them docked 15 points.
SunSport understands the likelihood of redundancies amongst the playing staff is unlikely as the squad is already so small.
Boss Stevie Farrell could also be asked to stay on and lead them through the troubled spell.

Administrators will try to manage the club out of the situation, with interested parties already thought to be circling.
If Farrell does remain in place he will have a fight on his hands to prevent the club he led to promotion last season from slipping back into League Two.
The Sons – who won two league titles and the Scottish Cup in the 19th century – beat Queen of the South 2-1 on the weekend to move up to eighth spot.
But their penalty will completely wipe out all the points they have picked up so far this season.
It means they will sit on zero, four points behind Inverness who have already suffered the same punishment for their cash woes.
Annan – who will move from ninth to eighth – have 14 points and leaving the Sons’ chances of breaking out of the bottom two already looking slim.
