Oscar Isaac’s upcoming animated film will explore the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. However, the plot of The King of Kings isn’t that simple. Fans found it shocking that the film has a multi-dimensional theme, where author Charles Dickens and his son Walter travel back to different points in Christ’s life. Isaac will play Jesus while Kenneth Branagh takes on the role of Dickens.
The film is based on a story written by Charles Dickens, which is a promising factor despite the bizarre plot. According to reports, more Biblical figures will appear in the film, voiced by some of the big names in Hollywood. VFX supervisor Seong-ho Jang will serve as the director of the film.

The Voice Cast of Oscar Isaac’s The King of Kings
Besides Oscar Isaac, The King of Kings also stars actor and filmmaker Kenneth Branagh as Charles Dickens. The film also features Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and Forest Whitaker. Hamill famously played Luke Skywalker while Whitaker went on to play a role in Rogue One.
Other big names include Ben Kingsley, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, and Roman Griffin Davis. The cast, along with the appeal for faith-based films in recent times, is enough to guarantee the success of the film.
Director Jang appreciated Blue Harbor realizing the potential in this film. He shared that they offered a filmmaker-friendly business model that benefitted the film largely. He shared (via THR):
[Blue Harbor] proved to understand the intrinsic value of this film and its faith-based engagement opportunities, and offered a creative, filmmaker-friendly business model that would provide significant outreach to families, animation fans, and the awaiting embrace of hundreds of millions of Christians across the nation.
