P Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs was once a legend in the music business but is now being frowned upon for various disturbing allegations regarding his antics. It has been quite unfortunate to witness Diddy, who helped several artists establish their careers over the years, battle through s*x trafficking, and racketeering charges.
There’s very little known about who Combs’ victims are, but the lawsuits poured out after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura accused him of abuse, adding that she was subjected to a pattern of control almost throughout the course of their relationship. Apparently, P Diddy has shown his aggressiveness toward other people, particularly the “Queen of Funk”.

Earlier this year, footage of P Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel in Los Angeles, California in 2016 surfaced, and it sparked widespread hate against the I’ll Be Missing You rapper. After the footage came out, Diddy issued an apology video while addressing the entire situation that unfolded.
Combs, who said that he was “disgusted” by his actions, claimed that he was in a dark place when it happened. People quickly shut down the apology, as many believed it wasn’t heartfelt enough, including Chaka Khan’s daughter, Indira, who said he deserved every bit of struggle he was going through at the time.
However, the iconic singer’s 50-year-old daughter recalled a time when Diddy and his crew nearly attacked her mother and her brother, who was 19 years old when the incident occurred. According to Entertainment Tonight, she commented on Diddy’s apology video (which has since been taken down) saying,
I’m glad this is happening to you, you got in my mother’s face and publicly disrespected her yelling and screaming like a lunatic. [W]hen my little brother tried to get you out of my mother’s face your security jumped my 19 year old brother[.] [T]hese may be your dark days but I’m singing and dancing watching your demise @chakakhan isn’t it great mom.
Damien Holland, Khan’s son is 45 years old today, which confirms that the incident must’ve taken place during the late 90s. Khan herself would eventually speak against violence and abuse in a statement to PEOPLE.

Around the time the video of P Diddy assaulting Cassie Ventura surfaced, the Grammy Award-winning record producer was already battling many allegations that were placed against him that came out following his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit. Ventura and Combs were together between 2007 and 2018 as she was also signed under his record label, Bad Boy Records, for a couple of years.
After Chaka Khan’s daughter slammed Diddy in the comment section of his own apology post, the legend herself shared a small but empowering statement against abuse and violence. She said,
In these troubling times, I’m reminded that the energies of violence and abuse can take many forms, affecting individuals and communities worldwide. As someone who has faced personal lessons, I believe in the power of meditation, prayer, and inner peace to bring light and hope to our lives and the world around us.
We can address most issues, prevent negativity, and cultivate compassion by seeking Self. Let us take responsibility for our actions, strive to be better, and support those who are hurting. May we find strength in grace and wisdom as human beings, walking towards a more loving and just world.
Diddy has since been arrested and is currently awaiting trial at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center where a number of other convicted public figures have served time. According to sources, Diddy’s trial will commence in May 2025.
