Pedro Pascal Can Not Stop Boasting About His MCU Debut as Reed Richards and Dakota Johnson is Now Pissed

“Patience is a virtue”, they say, and for Marvel fans, it’s practically a superpower. While the cinematic universe has had its fair share of hits and misses—think the underwhelming reception of The Marvels—there remains a flicker of hope. Who could forget the grippingly twisty tales of Loki or the pure fun of Deadpool & Wolverine? But what’s adding a spring to everyone’s step and perhaps even shooting some web-fluid high into the sky? None other than the highly anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps, slated for a 2025 release.

With Pedro Pascal, who reportedly can’t stop bragging about his big MCU debut as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, and Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach rounding out the iconic super quartet, can you blame fans for marking their calendars with excitement? Even Dakota Johnson is humorously irritated by Pascal’s boundless enthusiasm about his iconic new role.

Dakota Johnson’s Reaction to Pedro Pascal’s MCU Hype

In a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Dakota Johnson had quite a bit to say about her adventures in the world of film, and let’s just say she didn’t hold back. But the conversation took a particularly entertaining turn when she shifted gears to chat about her co-star, Pedro Pascal, from her upcoming romantic comedy, The Materialists.

When the host, Josh Horowitz, cheekily pointed out that Pascal is now the new Mr. Fantastic, Dakota was quick with a zinger.

I know why do you say it that way because everybody knows he won’t let anybody forget it.

On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Dakota Johnson quipped about Pascal’s bragging, saying, “I’m going to leak it” about his diet and workout routine if he keeps boasting.

Pascal’s enthusiasm for his role is so boundless that Johnson joked about knowing “everything about his diet and workout routine“, adding:

I’m going to leak it.

It seems that Dakota and Pedro’s friendship blossomed during the making of The Materialists (via ELLE), a film penned and helmed by Oscar-nominated director Celine Song. This romantic comedy also features Chris Evans and tells the story of a high-end matchmaker who finds herself entangled with a wealthy client, as per Variety’s report.

Joining Pascal in The Fantastic Four: First Steps are Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. While the official hero outfits are still under wraps, San Diego Comic-Con 2024 attendees were treated to some top-secret footage (see IGN), including a peek at the mighty Galactus.

In the world of Hollywood, where stepping into the spotlight can sometimes feel like walking a tightrope, Vanessa Kirby is striding confidently onto center stage with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot is shaping up to be Kirby’s biggest leap yet, and she’s practically bursting at the seams with excitement.

Fresh from the Toronto International Film Festival, Kirby was all smiles as she gushed about her role as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, in Marvel’s latest blockbuster (via Entertainment Tonight):

I just came from set. I’m flying back tonight in about two hours to go right back to work. It’s quite surreal. I’m loving [Sue]. I love her so much. I love her in the comics, I’m honored to play her. I love Ebon, Joe, and Pedro. We’re having a great time.

Kirby’s enthusiasm is as tangible as a kid in a candy store. She’s thrilled to be part of Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which includes her co-stars Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), and Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch). Kirby has been soaking up every moment with her fellow actors. “He’s everything. I love him,” she said of Pascal. The actress added:

We’re having such a good time. I can’t say enough amazing stuff about him.

With Vanessa Kirby and her co-stars gearing up for what promises to be a show-stopping reboot, this new take on Marvel’s legendary family is poised to make quite an entrance.

Mark your calendars for July 25, 2025, when  The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters.
