Pedro Pascal, the internet’s favorite daddy, has been a dominating force in Hollywood for a long time now, captivating audiences with his roles in many iconic projects including Game of Thrones. But while Pascal has been stealing hearts, there’s another who has quietly managed to steal the heartthrob’s heart, and that is none other than Lena Heady.

Despite being one of the most hated characters in one of the biggest shows in the world, Lena Headey knew exactly what to do with her role to make it unforgettable. So much so that people on the internet almost forgot there was an actor beneath Cersei’s skin.

The Internet’s Favorite Crush, Pedro Pascal, Had a Thing for TV’s Most Hated Queen!

Pedro Pascal has been part of a bunch of iconic projects, and Game of Thrones was definitely one of the crown jewels. When he joined the show as Oberyn Martell in Season 4, it was a major moment for him, and the actor was clearly excited about the experience.

Reflecting on it about a decade ago during a Reddit Ask Me Anything, he candidly shared that he had a significant crush on Lena Headey. He revealed,

Lena is one of my favorite persons. And she (in life) is so funny and so smart, such a good person, a good friend and a good mother, I think everyone on that set and anyone who comes in contact with her develops an instant crush. Talk about male or female, you’re going to get a crush on her easy. And I was just lucky that I got to work with her and hit it off and continue being friends.

Despite playing a scheming, villainous character, Lena Headey is an absolute delight in real life, something many of her co-stars have frequently commented on. Pedro Pascal wasn’t the only one who felt her charm. He wasn’t the only one who shared a charming relationship with the actress though. Their co-star, Peter Dinklage, is also one of Headey’s closest friends. While they all became fast friends, there were rumors about another actor who had a very different connection with her: Jerome Flynn.

During the third season of Soldier, Soldier in 1993, in which Flynn played Sergeant Paddy Garvey, Lena Headey joined the cast as Shenna Bowles. Though the details of their romance are a bit unclear, many reports suggest they began dating around 2002. Their breakup, however, was reportedly anything but pleasant. The Sun reported an insider statement claiming,

They kept the full extent of it secret but it was a very turbulent relationship and it has been very awkward on set. Lena has opened up to her trusted friends. She appears to have a genuine hate towards [Flynn].

Rumors also went around saying that their messy breakup might have been the reason they never shared screen on Game of Thrones. However, there’s little to confirm this, especially since Cersei and Bronn never interact in the books, making it clear that their lack of scenes together was likely due to the source material rather than their past relationship.

Unpacking Why Lena Headey’s Cersei is the Most Despised Game of Thrones Character!

No character in Game of Thrones stirred up as much loathing as Cersei Lannister did. Right from the beginning, she sets herself up as the main villain. At first, she’s driven by her fierce love for her children, doing everything she can to protect them. But after their tragic deaths, her grief turns into a burning desire for revenge.

As the series goes on, Cersei’s bitterness makes her more ruthless and determined to see House Lannister come out on top. The things she has done, it’s no wonder she becomes the most disliked character in the show.

Speaking about her character on Conan, she said,

I guess it’s a compliment, when you’re buying a table and someone’s like, ‘You’re that f—— bitch off of [GOT]Or people say, ‘I love her!’ and I worry more for them.

This exactly shows how wildly talented she is, because the level of talent required for turning swarms of fans into her greatest enemies is something else. There will truly be no other character like Cersei!

Game of Thrones is streaming on Max.
