Pedro Pascal Doesn’t See Himself Lasting Very Long in a Zombie Apocalypse Using His Brute Strength

However, long before he took on the role of Joel Miller in the gritty, post-apocalyptic drama, he had already started contemplating his fate in a potential zombie apocalypse. However, despite his on-screen strength and resilience, Pascal doesn’t hold much hope for his survival, humbly admitting that he would likely perish while trying to save his family.

Pedro Pascal Reflected on His Chances in a Zombie Apocalypse

In his role as Joel Miller in The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal won fans over with his portrayal of a grief-stricken man tasked with transporting an immune young girl across the country while battling his own inner demons.

While his on-screen character is depicted as strong and skilled in survival, Pascal doubts he possesses the same traits. During a Reddit AMA, he reflected on his ability to survive a zombie apocalypse, sharing thoughts he had after watching Cillian Murphy’s 28 Days Later.

Describing the movie as “a terrifyingly realistic possible circumstance,” he shared that his top priorities would be keeping his dog, friends, and family safe, admitting that he would likely sacrifice himself to save them.

I had a dog at the time, and I knew that I would have to keep her alive at all costs — I would probably do everything to keep myself and my friends safe. I might not last that long because I would probably sacrifice myself to save a family member or something like that.

However, the actor also acknowledged his limited physical fitness, suggesting that he would have to rely on his intelligence rather than his physical abilities to survive. While he’s uncertain about his survival, The Last of Us Season 2 promises an intense journey for Joel and Ellie after escaping the Firefly hospital.

In an interview with Esquire, Pascal confirmed, “It will stay true to the game, like entirely, I think,” adding that deviating from the original game’s story would be illogical.

While specific plot details for the next season are still under wraps, HBO has released a teaser offering a glimpse of Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, along with Isabela Merced’s Dina, Catherine O’Hara, and Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby.
