PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Penguins officially traded veteran forward Lars Eller to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
In exchange, Pittsburgh receives a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick (originally belonging to Chicago).
Eller originally signed a 2-year deal with Pittsburgh in 2023.
This season Eller tallied four goals for the Penguins. In his first season in Pittsburgh, he finished with 15 goals. He returns to Washington where he won a Stanley Cup in 2018.
The Penguins now own 10 selections in the 2025 NHL Draft.
