PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Pirates parted ways with three veteran players on Friday night.
Outfielder Bryan De La Cruz, first-baseman/outfielder Connor Joe, and pitcher Hunter Stratton were all non-tendered.
The Pirates acquired De La Cruz from the Miami Marlins at the trade deadline. He posted a batting average of .20 with 3 home runs and 17 RBI’s with Pittsburgh.
Joe spent the past two seasons in Pittsburgh, appearing in 123 games last season. He finished the season with a batting average of .228 with 9 home runs and 36 RBI’s.
Last season, Stratton piled up 33 strikeouts with a 3.58 ERA in 27 2/3 innings of work with one save.
The Pirates 40-man roster is currently at 36 players.
