A middle school student in Plainville woke up to police on Tuesday morning after allegedly posting a school threat overnight, according to the superintendent.
The threat was posted online around 1 a.m. by a student at the Middle School of Plainville, Superintendent of Schools Brian Reas said in a letter to the school community.
Reas said he sent out the letter to make parents aware of the threat and how it was addressed.
“The student woke up (Tuesday) morning to the police responding to the online threat,” Reas wrote.
Reas said school officials were grateful for the “quick response” by police.
“The student is safe and there is no threat to the school community,” Reas wrote.
It was not immediately clear if the student will face charges.
The incident is just the latest in a slew of threats that have plagued schools all over Connecticut and across the country so far this year.
