Police are investigating an alleged attempted armed robbery in the parking lot of a grocery store in Glastonbury.

Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the parking lot of Stop & Shop at 215 Glastonbury Boulevard on Saturday, around 11:50 a.m., according to the Glastonbury Police Department.

A preliminary investigation revealed that several individuals allegedly arrived at the grocery store in a stolen vehicle just before noon and attempted a gunpoint robbery of a woman who was entering her vehicle after shopping, police said.

No property was stolen, according to police, and the woman fled in her vehicle and did not sustain injuries.

“The robbery attempt appears to be part of a pattern of similar robberies occurring throughout the state,” police said.

The Glastonbury Police Department’s Investigations Division is conducting the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to contact Officer John Barrett at 860-652-4268.
