Rangers CEO hopeful Adrian Bevington downplays link with rival bidder and says he’s always acted with ‘best intentions’

RANGERS chief executive hopeful Adrian Bevington insists his previous involvement with potential Gers bidder Kyle Fox should be no impediment to landing a major Ibrox role.

The former English FA executive – who we told you is keen to discuss the chief executive role after frontrunner Jim Gillespie withdrew from the running – helped work Ms Fox as she attempted to acquire a stake in the Glasgow giants back in 2022.

Fox had been aiming to secure three-quarters of the club before scaling her offer back to a 25% stake.

But the deal got messy with the Gers taking her to an American court over claims she tried to lure investors into the club without authorisation.

It’s a potential impediment to a deal but Bevington told the Daily Record he has always acted with the best of intentions where the Ibrox side are concerned.

He said: “What I would say is that anything that’s gone on historically has always been done with the best of intentions on my part.

“I’m very big on building relationships and dealing with things in a calm and considered manner, wherever possible.

“The situation you are talking about from two years ago, my role there was the person who was introducing one or two people.
