Rangers legends from nine-in-a-row era spotted at private meal with Helicopter Sunday heroes in city centre restaurant

THEY all had a taste for trophies during their time at Ibrox.

And the staff at this city centre restaurant served up plates of plenty to some bona-fide Rangers stars at the weekend.

Among them were five legends and fan favourites who won a combined 42 medals while wearing the Gers jersey.

They were joined by another Scottish football cult hero and though he may never have pulled on the light blue – he still grabbed a Scottish Cup final medal AGAINST some of his mates at the meal.

Gers old boy Bob Malcolm admitted he’d “never laughed so much in my life” after hooking up with the Ibrox legends.

He sat alongside team-mates Marvin Andrews and Craig Moore at the private dining space in Mister Singh’s Indian eaterie at Charing Cross.

Joined by restauranteur Satty Singh, 90s heroes Richard Gough and Charlie Miller were also around the table.

So too was Andy McLarena one-time target for the Gers.

Instead he ended up at Dundee United and won the 1994 Scottish Cup at Gough and Miller’s expense. Though they also turned out for the Tannadice team too.

It wasn’t the first time many of the curry crew had hooked up recently either.

They helped Mr Singh’s launch their new curry at home range which is on sale at Costco in Springburn, Glasgow last month.

Miller, McLaren and Moore all tucked in at the warehouse alongside Old Firm greats like Frank McAvennie and Kris Boyd.

But this time the Rangers contingent – and McLaren – were joined by Helicopter Sunday stars Bob Malcolm and Marvin Andrews as well as captain through the second half of nine-in-a-row, Gough.

They were pictured in the plush private dining area of the Elderslie Street establishment – a popular haunt of players throughout the decades.

And Malcolm and McLaren continued the banter online hours after sharing their meal and stories.

The defender trolled the winger and wrote: “Great day out haven’t laughed so much in my life with all the old stories.

“Still can’t believe @andymclaren7 came dressed as Beetlejuice.”

But not to be outdone McLaren chimed back: “Is that why you came klike Uncle Fester?”

And with a clear nod to the current woes at Ibrox and the stars’ massive medal tally another fan replied: “What I wouldn’t do for u boys to pull son a strip just now!”

Earlier this month new technical director Nils Koppen suggested past Ibrox favourites could be drafted back to become involved in the Academy in future.

Rangers stars’ trophy count

Bob Malcolm – 4

Craig Moore – 13

Richard Gough – 18

Charlie Miller – 5

Total – 42
