Rayne’s Confession After Threatening Chidi’s Sister Over Chicken Shop Incident Painted a Bad Picture of Her in 90 Day Fiancé

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days just got its most recent controversy and the season is only on its third episode. The show, which serves as sort of a prequel to the main series, features couples who are just starting to get to know each other. One of the couples in the seventh season is Chidi and Rayne – a 34-year-old man from Nigeria who is visually impaired and a 38-year-old chicken farmer from New Mexico.

Despite everything, Rayne and Chidi seemed to have fallen for each other. Her consciousness about her body led to her thinking that he was perfect for her – she had found someone who liked her for her and not her looks. However, things took an absurd turn when Rayne let her temper get the best of her in front of Chidi’s sister over a chicken.

90 Day Fiancé’s Rayne is Protective When it Comes to Chickens

Being a chicken farmer and an animal lover, Rayne has about 130 chickens at her house, along with a few other animals. She has been adamant about the fact that she loves her chickens the most out of all her animals and would even wear t-shirts expressing this love.

Thus, when Chidi’s sister Victora decided to buy a live chicken at the market in front of Rayne, the latter was obviously infuriated. However, the way she dealt with the situation might not have been the most appropriate.

In Before the 90 Days episode 3 titled Sound and the Fury, Rayne stated that she had initially believed that Victoria took her to the market to see chickens, not buy one for dinner.

At first I thought Victoria wanted to show me the chickens because she knows how much I love them. Then I realized what she was doing. That she’s actually trying to buy a live bird in front of me and eat it for dinner.

At the market, Rayne made it clear that she wanted no part in the act and that if Victoria had the bird killed, she’d “become really pretty freaking violent.” They eventually walked away from the shop, with Rayne stating that she’d rather starve than eat the chicken.

In her solo confessional, Rayne said that Victoria knew just what chickens meant to her and questioned: “What kind of a person would just kill somebody’s family in front of them.”

Rayne’s outburst would have been understandable if she was a vegetarian herself but the kicker is that she eats chicken in her everyday life.

Rayne Didn’t Want to Eat That Particular Chicken

When Victoria confronted her brother’s girlfriend asking her if she ate chickens otherwise, Rayne stated, “No I eat it, I eat it.” However, according to her, she can eat chicken but she can’t have a part in witnessing the slaughter.

She stated that there was no remorse in the seller’s heart for the bird and maybe if he had shown some emotion towards it, things would have been different.

In her confessional, she said,

I eat chicken but I didn’t want to eat that chicken because I felt so bad for the situation. When the guy got him out by the legs no remorse like, ‘Here! You want that one?’ But I’m like if I just saw some emotion or thought like, ‘Goodbye little bird,’ I mean any heart at all…

Of course, again, this is quite understandable as some just might not be comfortable with watching it in front of them. But even when Victoria offered to get a chicken without Rayne, the latter straight-up refused stating that she’d not eat it. In fact, she turned pretty hostile towards the sister.

Rayne stated, “I won’t eat it. You’ll have to shove it down your throats yourself.” In Victoria’s confessional, she revealed just how confused and surprised she was seeing Rayne’s behavior.

The clip posted on the reality show’s Instagram ended with Rayne exclaiming, “Let the chicken live!” Check out the full clip below:

Of course, the comment section was full of people calling Rayne a red flag and being concerned about her behavior. They even called her out for hypocrisy asking how someone could be so passionate about an animal and then go on to eat it regularly.
