Report: Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco has fractured fibula

The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly are going to have to play some games without their top running back.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday that initial tests determined that Isiah Pacheco suffered a fractured fibula in Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Rapoport says Pacheco likely will be placed on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.

The 25-year-old left the field during the final drive of the game after getting his lower leg caught underneath a defender on a tackle.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Pacheco was seen leaving the stadium on crutches and in a walking boot.

The third-year running back has helped the Chiefs win the past two Super Bowls. He rushed for a career-best 935 yards and seven touchdowns last year.

The Chiefs (2-0) return to action this coming Sunday night against the Atlanta Falcons.
