Report: Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernandez has no damage in foot after hit by pitch

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez appears to have avoided serious injury after leaving Friday night’s game against the Cleveland Guardians with a left foot contusion from a hit by pitch.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Hernandez said that all scans came back clean and that he is feeling much better. He said that he thinks he can return to the Dodgers lineup by Monday or Tuesday, per The Athletic‘s Fabian Ardaya.

In a season full of injuries, the news should come as a relief to the Dodgers after manager Dave Roberts told reporters the injury was “not great” on Friday.

Hernandez, 31, is slashing .266/.331/.488 with 28 home runs, 87 RBIs and 10 stolen bases through 138 games with Los Angeles this season. He signed a one-year, $23.5 million contract with the Dodgers in the off-season and has provided a consistent presence in the middle of their lineup.

The former Toronto Blue Jays All-Star earned his second career trip to the Midsummer Classic in July and won the 2024 Home Run Derby.

The Dodgers will wrap up their three-game series with the Guardians this weekend before welcoming the Chicago Cubs to town on Monday.
