Riot is Ignoring the Greatest Issue in Valorant Matches

There’s no doubt that ever since its release back in 2020, Riot Games’ Valorant has taken the entire gaming community by storm. A tactical shooter by nature, it has been dominating Twitch for years now. From casual players to big-name professionals, everyone seems to be on the bandwagon and simply can’t get enough of this shooter.

The major reason behind the shooter’s success is Riot’s constant efforts to push boundaries and introduce new gameplay aspects and features. While it’s great to see the developers actively listening to the community, it seems like they’ve ignored one of the biggest gripes with Unrated games in Valorant, which might turn into a downward spiral if it is not fixed immediately.

Unrated Mode has Been Ruined in Valorant by Riot Games

The Unrated mode in Valorant has been one of the main modes that have been available since the release. It’s a clash between 10 players that are divided into two teams, ‘attackers’ and ‘defenders.’ Players switch sides after 12 rounds; the first team to make it to 13 rounds is the winner. It’s a normal and balanced mode ideal for casual players.

Recently, Valorant made its way to consoles after years of anticipation. The shooter was supposed to remain consistent with the PC platform, but Riot made some weird changes to the Unrated mode. For some odd reason, they brought overtime to the mode, which extended matches beyond the intended 13 rounds.

Initially, gamers didn’t notice this significant change. However, with the recent patch for Valorant, the Unrated changes have now made their way to PC players. This has led to a massive outrage on the game’s official subreddit, where gamers can’t comprehend why Riot is hell-bent on ruining the mode with unnecessary changes.

Many players have reported that they’ve played Unrated matches that have gone for more than 20+ rounds. It’s still unclear if this is a bug or an intentional change by Riot, but it’s still mind-boggling how Riot hasn’t issued a statement on this situation.

If it’s truly a new addition to Unrated, it works against the philosophy of the mode. It’s supposed to be quick and fun matches, not sweaty competitive matches where everyone loses their mind the minute the game starts to go south.

Let’s hope Riot quickly addresses this issue and explains to us what exactly is going on with Unrated matches in Valorant right now. With the shooter’s competition rising lately, gamers wouldn’t think twice before flocking onto a new game if Riot doesn’t revert back to the old Unrated mode setting.

Valorant Might Be Getting Battle Replay Feature Soon

While Riot continues to bring random changes to its established game modes, it seems like the studio is all set to bring one of the most requested features to the game. Leaks suggest a brand-new Battle Replay feature is all set to drop in the mobile version of the title.

The Chinese gaming community has been invited to participate in an Alpha playtest as Riot is getting ready to launch the shoot on mobile devices. The replay feature will help gamers review the complete replays of their entire match.

While Riot still hasn’t given us an update on the feature on PCs and consoles, the studio likes to keep players on the same playing field in Valorant regardless of the platform. So, with the upcoming updates and patches, we’re likely to see the Battle Replay feature on these platforms.

With that said, what do you think about the changes in the Unrated mode in Valorant? Let us know in the comments below.
