The United States of America is gearing up for one of the most important events in recent times: 2024 Election Day. While elections are usually a big deal, this year’s are even more so given the current political climate across the world and within the country. Thus, several celebrities have come together to show their support for either of the two presidential candidates: Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

While Trump has his share of celebrity endorsers, Harris recently hit it big when the ‘Avengers’ came together to vouch for her. Even Robert Downey Jr., whose good friend Mel Gibson is a staunch Trump supporter, came along to endorse Harris.
Robert Downey Jr. Vouches for Kamala Harris as Mel Gibson Shows Support for Trump
Robert Downey Jr.’s friendship with fellow actor Mel Gibson has been well documented, especially after Downey revealed the many deeds Gibson did when he was battling addiction issues. Unemployable at one time, the Iron Man star wouldn’t have reached the place he is now without Gibson, and it is a fact he remains eternally grateful for (see Far Out Magazine).
However, when it comes to their opinions on the Presidential Candidates of 2024, the two have massively different perspectives. While Gibson, hardly a week ago came forward to show his support for the Republican Donald Trump, Downey recently endorsed the Democrat Kamala Harris along with his fellow Avengers.
Although he hasn’t been as politically active in recent times, Gibson was asked by TMZ, just days ago, who he will be voting for in the upcoming elections. Stating that Harris has an ‘IQ of a fence post‘ and a miserable track record with no policies, the Braveheart star revealed he will be voting for Trump.
Avengers Stars Come Together to Support Kamala Harris
Just ahead of Election Day, Kamala Harris supporters were left shocked when the Avengers came together to vouch for her. In a video posted on all of their social media accounts, Scarlett Johannson called upon her fellow Marvel co-stars to encourage everyone to vote for Harris and ‘democracy’ (via Vanity Fair).
Featuring Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Bettany, and Johannson, the actors hilariously debated on what ‘catchphrase’ Harris should have before settling for I’m Kamala Harris and I’m down with democracy. With just five days to go, the MCU stars are the latest celebrities to support the Democrat candidate.
