Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 or Timothée Chalamet’s Dune 2 Are Not the Best Movies of 2024

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine is undoubtedly one of the most popular and profitable films of the year. After crossing the $1 billion mark before the end of its theatrical run, many would hail it as the greatest movie of 2024.

But, there’s still Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two starring Timothée Chalamet which is poised for a possible Oscar award next year. It also performed better than the first film in terms of box office. Both of these titles have the potential of becoming the best film of the year, but Queen Bey thinks otherwise.

Beyoncé Claims Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is the Best Movie of the Year

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has spoken about the things that inspire her these days. For a cultural icon and one of Hollywood’s most influential artists, she is drawn to many things – film and music – that she finds wonderful regarding quality and execution.

While speaking with GQ Magazine, the Crazy in Love singer revealed, “The best movie I’ve seen this year is Inside Out 2,” a Disney/Pixar animated film that previously climbed to the chart of the highest-grossing films of all time with $1.6 billion in global ticket sales. “I think it’s brilliant,” the pop star added.

Spending time with her children is the music diva’s top priority, so it’s not a shock that she had to see the animated movie. Certainly, Inside Out 2 might have also struck a chord in Beyoncé that made her feel all the emotions enough to convince herself that it is the best movie of the year.

It’s not an isolated opinion because the majority of the viewers also reacted to it positively. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a staggering 91% approval rating from the critics and an impressive 95% from the audience.

Ryan ReynoldsDeadpool & Wolverine came close to it, though, with $1.2 billion in total gross. Well, it seems highly unlikely that Beyoncé would let her kids watch an R-rated film so it is safe to assume they haven’t seen it. The same goes with Timothée Chalamet’s Dune: Part Two. Although this one is PG-13, the material is too complex for young minds. The singer’s children are ages 12 and 7.

On another note, Beyoncé revealed in the same interview that she’s also catching up on HBO’s House of the Dragon. Perhaps she might also want to look at Deadpool 3 and Dune 2 and see if Inside Out 2 is still her top favorite.

Fans would remember that Beyoncé also starred in 2019’s The Lion King as Nala, but she pretty much acknowledges the beauty and effort in making Inside Out 2. The former was a raging box-office success, thus allowing for a sequel where the singer reprises her role. In fact, she will be joined by her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in her first feature film debut.

Interestingly, Mufasa: The Lion King will also be released this year, so it remains to be seen whether Beyoncé still thinks Inside Out 2 is the best film of 2024.

Inside Out 2 is currently available to purchase digitally on Prime Video.
