Over the years, he has starred in several critically acclaimed and iconic works, making a reputation for himself as quite a beloved and talented actor. Considering just how much success he has seen over the years, many would not be surprised to know that his reputation precedes his career.
One of the most well-known facts about the actor is that he loves to prank his co-stars when he is working on a film. However, it would seem that Sandra Bullock was not interested in being his next victim.
George Clooney’s Reputation Precedes Him
Over the years, George Clooney has gained quite a reputation as a prankster. From Brad Pitt to Matt Damon, no one is safe from the wrath of the star when they are working on the same project. Although this has always been all fun in games for everyone involved, it would seem that one of his co-stars was not on board the train.
In 2013, Clooney starred alongside Sandra Bullock in Gravity, a sci-fi film set in space. It is safe to say that the shoot was quite challenging for the film, with quite a lot of floating around and complicated stunts. With this in mind, Bullock was not interested in getting pranked alongside it.
This film was so hard. Pranks had no place. There was never down time. How are you going to prank someone who’s hanging from a scaffolding with 12 wires, rigged up all day, and so we had a truce at the very get-go because that just wasn’t the appropriate place to prank someone.
During an interview with Collider, the actress revealed that during the filming of the movie, she and Clooney found some sort of middle ground. They seemed to have agreed to a truce when it came to pranking, as the actress did not think that the project was an appropriate place to prank their co-stars.
Sandra Bullock Had A Good Reason For The Ban
Although some might think that Sandra Bullock set up this rule for all her projects with George Clooney, this wasn’t actually the case. In the interview, the actress mentioned that it was not the pranks that made her uncomfortable, but the setting of the film itself.
Considering just how much stuntwork and energy was put into the film, it is safe to assume that shoot days were extremely tiring and tedious for all cast members. With this in mind, the actress believed that pranking would not be the best thing to add to the equation.
It is a well-known fact that Clooney does not play around when he is pranking his co-stars and tends to take it several steps further. With this in mind, it is understandable why the actress did not want to worry about getting pranked when she was filming such a complex and tiring film.
