A SCOTTISH comedian has raked in a whopping £9million after selling his portfolio of castles and mansions.
Craig Ferguson is best known for hosting the US late-night talk show The Late Late Show between 2005 and 2014.

The 62-year-old earned megabucks in America and was once the highest paid presenter on TV on £8million a year.
Over the years, the former telly host has built up an incredible property portfolio, with castles and mansions in Scotland and the States.
And he has raked in a total of £9million after selling the homes.
In 2019, he put his seven-bedroom Hollywood mansion on the market for £5million.
The two time Emmy winner and his third wife Megan Wallace-Cunningham bought the sprawling estate, in the hills above Los Angeles in 2012 for £3.2million.
It was described as a “one of a kind” house “a sprawling, shingle-clad multi-story affair built in 1909 that retains a variety of original or recreated Arts and Crafts details.”
After knocking down the price four times, he finally sold the mansion for £2.8million in 2021.
Ferguson then put the the 15-bedroom Bargany House in Ayrshire on the market for £2.2million in 2021.
Speaking about the property, the comedian, originally from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, previously said: “It’s my own piece of paradise back in Scotland.”
He became so determined to land the 340-year-old mansion that he paid £150,000 over the £1.85million asking price in 2011 after falling in love with it during a visit back home.
Bargany boasts a study, cinema, games room, billiard room and gymnasium, while seven of the bedrooms also have ensuite bathrooms.
It is situated in seven acres of grounds which include formal gardens, lawn and woodland in the heart of the Bargany Estate while the Girvan Water flows past its northern side.
But the comedian had to slash £250,000 off the asking price to offers over £1.95million in a bid to offload it in 2023.
And Ferguson has recently sold his luxury castle for £3.8million after lowering the price.
The 13-bedroom Cassillis estate, in Ayrshire, was bought by Ferguson and his wife Megan in 2021 and they set about improving the category A-listed property.
It comes with a five-bedroom converted coach house and three smaller estate cottages.

It also boasts 1.8 miles of salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Doon and is nestled near Prestwick and Glasgow airports.
Cassillis was built in the 15th century but now features a ballroom, library, cinema room and gym.
