Set in the 30th Millennium, Warhammer 30K focuses on the Emperor’s Great Crusade, an era that saw humanity’s return to galactic dominance after the Age of Strife. The Emperor of Mankind sought to unite all human colonies under one banner, creating the Space Marine Legions to enforce his vision. However, the crusade’s success was short-lived.

As Horus turned against the Emperor, he didn’t act alone. Many Space Marine Legions, once the loyal champions of humanity, followed Horus into rebellion. The Heresy was a cataclysmic conflict that consumed the galaxy for nine years, leaving entire worlds in ruins and resulting in trillions of deaths.
The Horus Heresy On a Big Screen Would Be Amazing
After years of brutal combat, the closing moments of the Horus Heresy took place on Terra, the Throneworld. It was here that Horus met his end, but not before mortally wounding the Emperor. The Emperor’s physical body was left in ruin, and he was put in the Golden Throne, a life-support system that has kept him in a state of eternal stasis.
The aftermath of the Heresy led to the restructuring of the Imperium, with Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines, taking command and reshaping the Space Marine Legions into the Chapters we know today.
