Summer in late-September? High temperatures make a comeback this week

High temperatures and humid weather are making a brief, but noticeable, comeback in the Bay Area this week, which should be one of the last before fall officially kicks in, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents living inland in East Bay cities such as Livermore and Pleasanton will be hit hardest, experiencing temperatures close to 100 degrees Monday and high 90s Tuesday. But they shouldn’t expect to wear shorts and T-shirts all day, as evening temps will drop into the 60s. By the middle of the week, the thermostat is expected to dip into the more seasonal 80s.

South Bay cities such as San Jose and Santa Clara will see low 90s during the day and 60s at night Monday and Tuesday. The numbers will slide into the 80s and high 70s Wednesday.
