A teenager is in critical condition after she was shot during a domestic violence incident in Hartford early Tuesday.
Officers responded to an undisclosed location in the city shortly before 12:40 a.m. on the report of a shooting and found a 16-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.
The teen was taken to an area hospital where she was listed in critical but stable condition, Boisvert said.
Investigators believe the girl was shot during a domestic violence incident, Boisvert said.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and have assumed the investigation, which remains ongoing.
