Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers left Saturday’s game vs. UT-San Antonio in the second quarter with an apparent leg injury.
Ewers suffered what looked to be a non-contact injury after making a handoff in the second quarter, with Texas up 14-0. He was helped to the Longhorns’ injury tent and then limped toward the locker room.
Redshirt freshman Arch Manning replaced Ewers under center and immediately threw a touchdown pass. Here’s video of that:
Manning also later added a 67-yard touchdown run. The second-ranked Longhorns lead the Roadrunners 28-7 at halftime.
Ewers returned to the sideline late in the half wearing street clothes, so he is out for the game. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian told ESPN at halftime that Ewers’ injury is a “strained abdomen.”
