The 8 film designs participating in this year’s Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point | Liberal


Feature fiction film projects selected to participate in this year’s co-production forum Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point have been announced by co-production, training and networking platform Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days.

Among them are three proposals by Cypriot directors, of Simon Pharmakaher Alexandra Matthaiou and the twin Kamil Saldun, Sholeh Zahraei.

The 5The Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days returns to the Rialto Theater (April 18 – 20, 2024), as part of the 22u International Festival Film Days 2024.

The international jury this year are made up of Cécile Tollu-Polonowski (Producer, The Match Factory, Germany – France), George Tsourgiannis (Producer, Horsefly Films, Greece) and Anita Elsani (Producer, Elsani & Neary Media GmbH, Germany).

The groups of producers-directors from Mediterranean countries will present their proposals through the pitching process, aiming at collaborations with other producers, financiers, sales agents, film distributors, festival representatives and funding bodies for cinema. Participation offers opportunities for producers and directors to network and connect them with international film professionals.

The pitching process, which will take place at the Rialto Theatre, will be attended in person by producers, representatives of distribution companies, film festivals and other professionals with a strong activity in the European and Middle Eastern film scene.

The prizes to be awarded:

  • Prize Cyprus Movie CommissionInvest Cyprus: prize money of €1000, an offer of the Cyprus Audiovisual Committee
  • Prize P.S. Movies and Stories, comes with equipment rental €4000*, an offer from PS Movies and Stories Cinema Equipment Rental Ltd. (*terms and conditions apply)
  • Best Award Pitch Debut Film, €500 cash prize to be awarded to the director of a debut film project – an offer from the Cyprus Directors Union
  • Prize Agora Networking for the PURCHASE of 65u Thessaloniki International Film Festival (31/10 – 10/11/2024). The prize is awarded to the producer of a project, and includes free Agora accreditation and 4 nights in Thessaloniki.

This year, Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days is launching its partnership with platform Coprocity. As a result, all film projects presented at the co-production forum are eligible for the €3500 Coprocity Development Award offered annually in collaboration with Cineuropa.

The event will officially open on Friday April 19 at 11am, with the pitching process at the Rialto Theater and will be open to accredited film professionals only. It is reminded that interested professionals can apply for accreditation until Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
