The Legendary Actor Who Voices Indy is Also a DC Legend

While the Indiana Jones film franchise has given us a wide range of video games, fans are particularly excited to grab a copy of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This brand-new game is a departure from the classic Indy games, allowing players to step right into the shoes of Henry Jones Jr, quite literally, with the title being an action-packed FPS experience.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was revealed fully earlier this year, with fans getting a glimpse at the game’s combat and graphical fidelity. While it’s sad that Harrison Ford won’t be featured in the game, Lucas Games and Bethesda have managed to find a perfect replacement that no one could’ve ever predicted in their wildest dreams.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Features Troy Baker as Indy

If you’ve taken a look at the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle trailers, you’ll realize that Indy looks quite similar to Harrison Ford from the films. The game, which slots into the franchise’s main timeline right between 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and 1989’s The Last Crusade, takes place from a first-person perspective, but you’ll see Indy’s face at various points.

It is unmistakably Ford’s face. However, it’s already confirmed that Ford has not provided the performance for Indy in the upcoming game. Bethesda has revealed that Troy Baker is stepping in as the fedora-wearing archeologist.

While LucasFilm knows it’s a challenging task to cast anyone other than Ford for such a project, the studio believes Braker can perfectly capture Indy’s charm and sense of humor.

Casting for Indiana Jones is a nearly impossible task because Harrison Ford is Indy. Finding someone who can step into those shoes and fill that iconic hat is extraordinarily challenging. But then you meet Troy Baker.

Baker is a name that most modern gaming fans will easily recognize. He is most famously known for playing Joel Miller in The Last of Us Franchise, with other big roles being Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite and Nathan Drake’s brother Sam in Uncharted Series.

What’s interesting is that he has also voiced numerous iconic characters including Batman, The Joker, Two-Face, and Robin. He has certainly played a great role in elevating the DC animated shows, movies, and games with his voice!

Judging from what we can see in the brief Indiana Jones and the Great Circle trailers, Baker has done a phenomenal job in channeling Ford as the legendary treasure hunter.

It’s time to grab your whip, fedora, and whip because Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is right around the corner. It’s been a while since Xbox confirmed the game, but many kept wondering when it would hit the shelves. Fortunately, we finally have a release date.

The title will debut on Xbox Series S/X and PC on December 9th! This was confirmed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live Broadcast. The game will also be available on launch day via Xbox’s Game Pass service.

What’s more shocking is the fact that the game will also debut on PlayStation 5. The release of the title on PS5 is undoubtedly a massive step in Xbox’s strategy to roll out its exclusives to rival devices.

The game will feature an early access period if you can’t wait to dive into the first-person fistfights and puzzle-solving. With Premium Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Premium Upgrade, gamers can play the game as early as December 7th.
