The Balearic Parliament today, Tuesday, unanimously approved a law that will penalise the holding of illegal parties and “annoying activities” in homes that are marketed as tourist accommodation. Més per Menorca deputy Josep Castells, the group that proposed the bill, argued that the current legal framework does not provide a response to the phenomenon of taking advantage of tourist rentals for an “annoying” activity, which is aggravated by the difficulty of pursuing it through administrative channels, leaving the general public who suffer its effects defenceless.
