Thousand-Year Blood War is Giving Boruto Fans a Small Hint of Hope with Studio Pierrot’s Much Needed Comeback

The return of Bleach is one of the most glorious comebacks in the history of anime. Studio Pierrot put their all into the project; and it showed in the spectacular animation and the anime original scenes. They have elevated the charm of the final war and fans couldn’t be happier. But the preferential treatment that Bleach is getting makes fans wonder why the same enthusiasm isn’t directed towards other anime. For instance, Boruto.

Over the last few years, Studio Pierrot has put a lot of fan-favorite projects on hold, namely, the 20th anniversary special Naruto episodes, Boruto anime, and the Black Clover anime. Considering that, the recent discourse around Studio Pierrot was focused on how the studio is prioritizing Bleach over their other projects. The results of their efforts are quite apparent as the animation of the Thousand Year Blood-War is absolutely stellar. Furthermore, they’ve altered and expanded some instances from the manga which has enhanced the overall enjoyment of the show.

Seeing Bleach get the special treatment, fans were understandably upset that there were no updates or information on their favorite anime. However, the discourse has suddenly taken a hopeful turn as a part of the fandom has voiced their faith in Studio Pierrot. Fans are hopeful that the comeback of Boruto will once again prove what the studio is truly capable of.

Boruto anime went on a hiatus in 2023. Despite the lack of information regarding its potential comeback, fans are expecting it to be as good as Bleach. Opposed to the more vibrant animation during the first part, the studio can use darker tones to enliven the serious mood in the manga. Since, the story has taken a mature turn in its second part, Two Blue Vortex. The fandom is on the fence as to what to expect, but some fans have expressed their faith in the studio.

The breaks the studio is taking between each anime might prove beneficial for the quality of these projects. As for Boruto, the manga chapters are coming out as per usual, the anime creators will have enough content to work with by the time the anime returns. It’ll also help them with planning ahead. Other factors that can ensure better quality for the anime is better scheduling.

Bleach has become a seasonal anime whereas Boruto was weekly at the time it was airing, this difference also affected their quality. Its nearly impossible to produce high-quality episodes every week with the hectic weekly deadlines. So a change in the scheduling can change the quality for the better. Over the years, the studio have demonstrated what they’re truly capable of numerous times, and with the comeback of Boruto they might just do that again.

Boruto: Naruto’s Next Generations is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
