Tite Kubo – Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Has One Thing That is “My way of saying thank you to the fans”

Bleach made one of the most glorious anime comebacks of all time, a decade after it stopped airing in 2012. The Thousand-Year Blood War arc of the series has revived the hype, and the decade-long wait couldn’t have been rewarded better. Besides the spectacular animation and adrenaline-inducing music, Tite Kubo’s involvement in the production has accentuated the charm of Bleach. Not many people get to rectify their mistakes, but Kubo got the chance and he’s making the best of it.

The pacing and execution of the final war are significantly better than the manga. Both big and small alterations have been made that have changed the series’ conclusion for the better. However, the final part of the war is yet to begin. The upcoming parts of the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc will animate the most important fights. Will the magic be replicated a third time, or will the conclusion turn out to be a repeat of the manga?

To the joy of fans, it seems like the exhilarating experience that the Thousand-Year Blood War has been so far will continue without any disruptions. Fans who have not read the manga but watched TYBW will inevitably wonder why such a glorious ending got so much hate. The reason behind this difference in reception is the differences between the anime and the manga. A lot of events from the manga have been expanded and altered in the anime.

For instance, the anime portrays the developments concerning Uryu way better. Some extra scenes were also added to the fight between Yamamoto and Yhwach, which is easily one of the best fights, both visually and story-wise. Many such scenes have been added to almost every fight. The characters of the SternRitters are explored better in the anime, which makes their fights more interesting.

With the trailer of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3, it’s safe to assume that there’s nothing to worry about with respect to the animation. As for the plot progression, Tite Kubo shared some hopeful words in an interview that instill confidence.

Fans were not alone in feeling let down by the ending of Bleach; it seems like Tite Kubo felt the same way. The mangaka’s involvement in the production of the Thousand-Year Blood War anime is no secret. Years after the manga ended, he returned to the same story, perhaps with a new perspective on how it could’ve ended. It needs to be mentioned that when Bleach ended, Kubo was submitting chapters weekly for years, so the exhaustion must have held him back as well.

However, Kubo is dedicated to giving it his all this time around. In an interview (via translation on X), he shared that we will get more anime original content in the upcoming parts of TYBW.

Bleach has a huge cast of characters, and I wanted to make sure that many of them get their moments in this final arc.

Given how the upcoming part will cover the most important fights, his words spark joy. Part 3 will pick up from the fight between Ichibei and Yhwach. Is it too greedy to hope for this fight to surpass the fight between Yamamoto and Yhwach? We shall see when the part finally airs. Besides bringing his ideas to life, Kubo is dedicating these changes to his fans.

It’s my way of saying thank you to the fans who have been with us for so long.

The glorious comeback was enough of a ‘thank-you’ that fans needed. However, hearing the mangaka that you’ve followed for years expressing his gratitude for the time you’ve given to their creation, sounds like a personal win. Before the adoration for Kubo and the joy sparked by his words transcend the realm of parasocial relationships, let’s get back to the wait that will very soon be awarded with Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3!

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is available for streaming on Netflix and DisneyPlus.
