A PERSON has been hit by a train on a busy ScotRail line near Glasgow.
Mercy crews raced to the incident between Airdrie and Carntyne at around 8:25am.
The rail operator says all lines between these stations are closed while emergency services carry out their work.
Disruption is expected until 12pm.
A statement reads: “A person has been hit by a train between Airdrie and Carntyne.
“Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
“Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or diverted until approximately 12pm.
“To assist you with your journey, you can use your ticket to travel on ScotRail services via any reasonable route at no extra cost.
“If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
“If you’ve been affected by what happened on the network today, there is always someone to talk to. You can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 from any phone for a confidential chat.”
