DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – The trial date for a Decatur chiropractor accused of poisoning his wife has been moved again, according to court documents.
Brian Mann was initially set to go on trial on November 18. However, court documents say that due to “issues with the discovery,” the date has been extended to March 3, 2025. This follows Mann’s entering a not-guilty plea on Oct. 25.
Mann was arrested in September 2022 when he was charged with the attempted murder of his wife. He is accused of trying to poison her with lead from a construction project.
Court documents state that Mann and his wife were in the middle of a divorce when he “intentionally caus[ed] her to unwittingly ingest particles of lead.” His wife spent nearly two months in the hospital because of it, according to court documents.
He has been scheduled to be tried several times; however, the trial has been pushed back each time. It was originally scheduled for Aug. 14, 2023.
