YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Friday was the National Philanthropy Day recognition in the Mahoning Valley.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Mahoning-Shenango Chapter named a group of outstanding philanthropists and fundraisers.
The celebration was to recognize the people whose philanthropic efforts have made the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys better.
“All the time, all the time. So you need to be creative, and you need to think about what the donor wants. Just like you work with your employers, right? What do you want out of your employment? So same thing for a donor. What connects them and what makes them feel that they’re having an impact,” said Aundrea Cika Heschmeyer, outstanding volunteer fundraiser.
Six honorees were recognized today for their philanthropic efforts.
