Vasseur’s ‘no upgrade’ claim contradicted by Ferrari news

Ferrari has seemingly contradicted recent comments from team boss Frederic Vasseur, who claimed no further upgrades would be introduced to the 2024 car in the season’s final three races.

Ferrari has seemingly contradicted recent comments from team boss Frederic Vasseur, who claimed no further upgrades would be introduced to the 2024 car in the season’s final three races.

Despite Max Verstappen cruising toward his fourth drivers’ championship, Ferrari remains locked in a tight battle with McLaren and Red Bull for the constructors’ title.

“Ferrari look very strong,” McLaren CEO Zak Brown told Auto Motor und Sport ahead of the Las Vegas GP. “They’re giving me more headaches than Red Bull.”

Following the Brazilian GP, Vasseur was directly asked if there were any more upgrades planned for Las Vegas, Qatar, or Abu Dhabi. His response was definitive: “Nothing more to come.”

However, reports from Sky Italia and autoracer.it suggest otherwise. According to these sources, Vasseur’s comments may have been intended “to avoid creating expectations.”

The reports indicate that Ferrari will debut a new front wing featuring a modified flap this weekend in Las Vegas. “There will also be an experimental floor, present in a single example, which will be used exclusively in FP1,” the reports claim.
