Volkswagen cancels collective labor agreement that guarantees job security: growing unrest among almost 300,000 German employees

German car giant Volkswagen has formally terminated the agreement that guarantees job security for its German employees. The agreement was concluded with the unions in 1994 and extended several times. By terminating it now, layoffs are possible at the car manufacturer from July next year. This is increasing unrest among the almost 300,000 employees.
