HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) – Farrell topped Sharpsville 28-18 to win the District 10 Class 2A Championship on Saturday night at Hickory High School.
The Steelers have now won four consecutive District 10 titles.
Farrell opened the scoring in the first quarter when Aaron Pegues connected with Zameere Thomas on a 32-yard touchdown pass.
Sharpsville answered back later in the first quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run by Geno Currie.
Farrell recaptured the lead for good when Juelz Johnson scampered in for a 3-yard score, one of his three touchdowns on the night.
Johnson finished with 186 yards in the win for the Steelers.
Sharpsville’s Rylan Piccirilli cut the deficit to 14-10 by connecting on a 28-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Farrell bounced back with a pair of touchdown runs by Johnson in both the second and third quarters to seal up the victory.
With the win, Farrell improves to 7-5 on the season and advances in postseason play.
Sharpsville’s season comes to an end with a record of 8-4.
