Wayfinder Has Made Its Triumphant Return to PlayStation, and It Is Better Than Ever

It has been over a year since Wayfinder was originally released for early access on PlayStation and PC, and it has had a relatively rough time throughout this past year.

Whether it be from the game being removed from stores for a temporary period or Digital Extremes no longer being the publisher for the title, there have been plenty of issues for the title that nearly led to its demise.

Luckily these issues have been resolved and the game is looking better than ever as plenty of new mechanics, locations, characters, and systems have been added to improve upon the title.

Wayfinder Has Returned to Stores With a New Lease on Life

It has been a rough year for Wayfinder as the developers have been working hard to create a new experience for players to enjoy with this title after learning from its early access release back in August 2023.

Since its early access release, the game has had many changes in regards to its looting systems, levelling systems, graphics, and overall content, to the point it feels like a brand-new game.

Back when the game originally released it was eerily similar to games like Warframe and The First Descendant with its character and weapon system as it required players to earn ranks in their equipment to boost their power over time.

Along with forcing players into farming out resources and special rewards to acquire new characters and weapons which could potentially take hours if RNG wasn’t on your side.

Now this has partially been scrapped as characters are still required to be ranked up through playing the game, but weapons and echoes have a brand-new looting system which is similar to Borderlands.

Rather than crafting certain weapons and killing certain enemies to gather echoes, players are now able to earn these as rewards from quests, events, open-world chests, and more.

Along with this new looting system armor has also been added to the game which can also be acquired through quests, events, and so on, and these items can be used to improve your character in numerous different ways as well as in terms of style as each set of armor has its own style.

One major addition to the game that players have been swooning over is the mounts that they can use to traverse the open-world. These mounts are a fun addition to the game as it allows players to move across the game at an incredible speed.

These changes may seem small, but they have made a massive impact to the game overall as players have more freedom to choose their weaponry, instead of having to farm for hours on end to get a weapon that may end up being relatively poor.

New Content Is Coming to the Game That Even Early Access Players Haven’t Experienced

Along with the upgraded looting system, there is even an upgrade to the actual open-world of Wayfinder as brand-new locations have been added to the game along with new caves, new puzzles, and even new dungeon layouts providing even early access players something new to enjoy.

Back when Wayfinder originally released, there was a fair amount of content to play through, but with this new upgrade, there is even more for players to explore throughout this chaotic world.

Whether you want to farm out the dungeons for good loot, or just explore the open-world, the developers have worked tirelessly to provide plenty of locations for players to explore.

Along with the new locations for players to explore, there are even new levelling mechanics that players can go through which enable even more ways for players to play through the game.

One of the main new mechanics within Wayfinder is the talent system which has been brought into the game, which is ranked up through numerous different ways within the game.

For example, players can earn Wayfinder XP by simply moving through the open-world and killing enemies, or they can complete quests, or even level up characters to their maximum level.

Once players earn levels in this new system, they can unlock permanent bonuses to their characters which can benefit them in many ways, such as increasing their attack power, their defences, their stamina, and even unlock special abilities that improve their characters in numerous ways.

Along with these changes, there has also been an update to the housing system that was originally included in the game, as there were many complaints regarding the tiny apartment players had access to and the minimal amount of decorations.

Now it has been updated to allow players access to their own mansion! Along with easier access to decorations which have a more common drop, leading players to fill each room to the brim with random decorations of plates, tables, beds, pets, and even fish!

What do you think about Wayfinder making its way back onto PlayStation? Are you excited to get your hands on this title? Are you excited to try out these new systems that are included in this version of the title? Let us know in the comments what you think!
